Mango Chutney | Mamidikaya Tokku

Fresh, vibrant, and absolutely BURSTING with flavor, you’re going to love this versatile and wonderfully delicious chutney. The flavor is really unlike anything you’ve tasted before. It can be served with rotis and dosas.

  • 2 tbsp grated coconut
  • 6 chillies
  • 1 raw mango
  • 1 small piece of jaggery
  • 1 pinch asafoetida
  • 1 tsp jeera
  • 1 inch ginger
  • 1/2 tsp mustard
  • 1 strand curry leaves
  • Rock salt as required
  • 1 tsp oil


  1. Into a blender, add 2 tbsp grated coconut, 1 tsp jeera, 1 inch ginger, 6 chillies, rock salt as required and blend all the ingredients.
  2. Add chopped mangoes part by part and blend the mixture.
  3. Add 1 small piece of jaggery and blend. Blend until the chutney is finely blended and do not add water while blending.
  4. Take the chutney into a bowl. Into a pan, add 1 tsp oil, 1 pinch asafoetida, 1/2 tsp mustard, 1 strand curry leaves and mix everything well.
  5. Add this tadka onto the chutney and you can serve this chutney with hot rotis and dosas.
