ITINERARY
Arrival at Port Blair
On arrival at Port Blair in the Morning around 11 AM, check in to your hotel and put all your luggage in your rooms. Have your lunch get ready to start off your adventure.
Hotel to stay
- Lemon Tree Hotel – It’s located exactly opposite to the Airport and is near to all the tourist locations.
- Symphony Samudra Beachside Jungle Resort and Spa – If you are someone who wants to chill at a resort then this should be your choice. Located at a distance of 21.7 km(36 mins) from the airport, this jungle themed resort is a perfect getaway from the main city to relax and take a break from the city’s hustle.
(Note that in google it shows the resort is located near the airport itself but it’s not correct. It’s far from the airport, so choose this resort only if you want to relax and take a break.)
Places to Visit
First location – Flag South Point
This flag point is of great historical significance as this is the exact spot where Netaji Subash Chandra Bose hoisted the Indian flag for the first time in Indian soil on the 30th December 1943. Today, at an altitude of 150 feet in the South point area in Port Blair stands a flag pole proud and tall.
Time required : 30 mins
Distance from Airport : 12 min (4.4 km)
Cost : Free
Second location – Cellular Jail
Cellular Jail is a good visit to learn about the pain of the past in India where freedom fighters and educated people were tortured. This place remains intact as a tribute to those who were held there as prisoners.
Time required : 1 to 2 hours
Distance from Airport : 12 min (3.8 km)
Entry Ticket : Rs. 30
You can see a Light and Sound show in the evening at the Cellular Jail which tells the story of the great freedom fighters. I did not get tickets on the same day, so I booked tickets for this show on the last day.
Time required : 1 hour
Cost : Rs. 300 (for adults), 150 (for kids)
After the show enjoy your dinner at your hotel itself or explore the place and try out different food. Later return back to the hotel for an overnight.
Arrival at Havelock Island
Wake up early as the sunrise and sunset is very early in the Andamans, this way you can cover all the locations soon if you start off your day early. Finish your breakfast and head to the Phoenix Bay Jetty to take the onward ferry to Havelock Island as per ferry timing. Book your ferries online and make sure you arrive an hour early as the queue is too much. In private jetty is takes about an hour and half to reach Havelock, but in government jetty is takes about 4 hours. After reaching Havelock, check in to your hotel and head out to scuba center.
Hotel to stay
- Sea Shell Havelock Resort – The location is very good as it’s a 13-minute walk from the Havelock ferry terminal. The property was clean and the staff was friendly. You will definitely find great food in the inhouse cafe. It’s a little expensive and can be improved as per the expensive tariff.
I would suggest looking out for other options too as there are great resorts in Havelock which are budget friendly and near the tourist locations.
Places to Visit
First location – Diving Center
This diving center is amazing and they provide all the services like gear, costume, photography and videography to make your scuba diving experience worth while. It’s located 10 mins from Sea Shell Resort.
Time required : 2 hours (includes training + dive)
Distance from Jetty point : 10 mins
Cost : Rs. 3500
After the dive have your lunch at a good restaurant, I had gone to a restaurant called Shakahaar, it’s a Pure Veg Restaurant. You could try out different ones around Havelock to get your hands on various sea foods. If you are commuting in a car then your driver itself will suggest you all the locations to visit for eating and diving.
Second location – Radhanagar Beach
Asia’s best and World’s 7th best beach is in Havelock Islands, Andaman. If you are coming to Andaman then you simply cannot miss Radhanagar Beach. one of the most scenic beaches on the Islands. You can spend some quality time and have fun alongside this naturally beautiful beach. Witness the various shades of blue and red during sunset.
Time required : 1 to 2 hours
Distance from Jetty point : 20 mins
After witnessing the sunset return back to the resort/hotel for an overnight stay and enjoy your dinner in the hotel itself or explore the street food outside the Radhanagar Beach.
Havelock Island – Elephant Beach
Wake up peacefully and finish your breakfast by 9 AM and head to leave for the Elephant beach in a sharing fibre speedboat. You will have to board in at the same jetty where you arrived. It takes around 30 mins to reach the beach and you have only 3 hours time given to you by your boat to enjoy in this beach.
This beach offers blue shallow water to snorkelers and anyone who wants to try out various water activities like Parasailing, Sea Walking, Jet Ski, Banana Ride etc.
The beach is very stunning with white sand and fallen trees offering an ideal opportunity to photographers.

Hotel to stay
- Symphony Summer Sands Beach Resort – The location is very good as it’s 2 km from Sitapur Beach, 3 km from Bharatpur Beach, and 5 km from the Natural Bridge rock formation. The rooms are very spacious and the view from every room is beautiful. The buffet food is delicious and you will surely be tummy full.
Places to Visit
First location – Bharatpur Beach
At this beach, you will find clear blue water and you can try out different adventure sports here too. But I would recommend you to try out all the water sports in Havelock itself. Enjoy your lunch over here itself as there are not many good restaurants in other locations.
You can shop various shell and pearl made jewellery, bags and many more.
Time required : 1 to 2 hours
Distance from Jetty point : 1 min (400.0 m)
Second location – Natural Coral Bridge
The Natural bridge formation in Neil Island is a rock out from the main wall with a giant hole in it created by the continuous lashing waves over the years. This bridge is also known as Howrah Bridge locally, a name given in jest by the Bengali settlers. You will find live corals with beautiful fishes and much more. You can visit this place with a guide to understand the marine life even better.
Time required : 1 to 2 hours
Distance from Jetty point : 6 min (2.4 km)
Cost of guide : Rs. 500
Third location – Laxmanpur Beach
This beach is clean and the walk to the sunset point is beautiful as you will be walking on white sand with water to the right and rocks to the left, however, it is not recommended to swim at this beach. Laxmanpur beach has the best sunset viewpoint in entire Andaman Islands without a doubt.
Time required : 1 to 2 hours
Distance from Jetty point : 6 min (2.5 km)
All these beaches are worth visiting. Later, return back to the hotel at Neil Island for an overnight stay. You can eat at your hotel itself or explore the local food.

Or visit the Corbyn’s Cove Beach and chill there for a while. Have some yummy food and relax.
As we did not witness the Light and Sound Show on the first day, we headed back to Cellular Jail from the beach to witness the show.
